Important Notices

  • Registration and Project submission for PG-Star Programme has been closed.
  • If the Screening Committee of the college is not getting quality proposals within 10% of total PG seats of their college, the Committee may recommend up to a maximum limit of three students under one guide but the total number of recommended proposal will not exceed in any case more than 10% of their total PG Seats. No student or Guide can register or submit application without approval of the Screening Committee which should also be forwarded by the Head of the Institute and any such Invalid Application will be deemed disqualified without any notification and these proposals will not be considered by Council.

  • If the Screening Committee of the college has recommended and the college has forwarded more than the maximum limit of 10% of the total PG seats of their college, the Head of the institution should send the list of the top 10% of submitted projects for financial assistance for research contingency to be considered under PG-STAR scheme.
  • If the college fails to do so, the top 10% of projects selected on the basis of First Come, First Served will be deemed to be taken as the final projects from the college under the zone of consideration.

What We Do

The Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), under Ministry of AYUSH, is an ensemble of 30 tangential institutes. This apex body in India is amongst the leading research organizations in the field of Ayurveda i.e. Indian heritage system of medicine. Over the years, the council is devotedly working for undertaking, coordinating, formulating, developing and promoting research on scientific lines in Ayurvedic Sciences through its different peripheral units and also through collaborative studies with various Universities, Hospitals and Institutes nationally and internationally. The research activities of the Council include Medicinal Plant Research (Medico-Ethno Botanical Survey, Pharmacognosy and Tissue Culture), Drug Standardization, Pharmacological Research, Clinical Research, Literary Research, Documentation and Health Care Research Programmes through various outreach activities.

About The Scheme

CCRAS has initiated the STUDENTSHIP PROGRAM FOR AYURVEDA RESEARCH KEN (SPARK) for Undergraduate Scholars of Ayurveda, AYUSH Ph.D. Fellowship scheme to meritorious post graduates of AYUSH system and CCRAS Post -Doctoral Fellowship Scheme for PhD scholars of AYUSH to identify promising young researchers with innovative ideas. Now, the Council intends to initiate “SCHEME FOR TRAINING IN AYURVEDA RESEARCHFOR PG SCHOLARS (PG-STAR)” for Ayurveda MD/MS Scholars. Currently a total of ~ 4000 scholars are pursuing MD/MS(Ayurved) degree in various branches. This scheme aims at facilitating MD/MS Scholars by providing them financial and technical support.This scheme is primarily aimed at promoting good quality research in Ayurveda students pursuing post- graduation courses as well as to improve visibility and accessibility of their research work to larger research audience.   Read More

Eligibility

Ayurveda medical graduates who are admitted to the Post-graduation course i.e. MD/MS (from any NCISM/GoI recognized College/Institute) and who wish to avail CCRAS financial assistance for pursuing their research project. PG-STAR is open to Indian nationals only. The applicant should be an Indian citizen.

Application Timeline

Attention! Due to delay in review process and closing of office due to G20 summit, the timeline has been extended as follows.

  • Registration:-20th June-10th July, 2023 (ONLY ATTESTATION FORM is required for project submission in this Phase)
  • Application Submission:- 20th June-10th July, 2023
  • Review of Proposal:- 10th August -11th September, 2023
  • Final Evaluation:- 12th September -20th September, 2023
  • Result Declaration:- By 29th September, 2023
  • Acceptance from Students:- By 9th October, 2023 (e-mail duly signed and stamped copy of Annexure I, VII & VIII at pgstar.ayu@ccras.nic.in)
  • GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

    • There is a fully online application for this programme. Hard copies shall neither be accepted nor entertained.
    • Eligible Candidates are required to register on CCRAS PG-STAR website in the month of June and then submit the application form and proposal online till 30th June every year which will be evaluated by the Council. Results will be announced on 25th July of the registration year and list of selected students will be displayed on the website.
    • Research plan/ approved synopsis of MD/MS should be submitted online as per prescribed format.
    • Only PDF files can be uploaded on CCRAS website and other formats viz. MS Word, JPEG etc. will not be accepted.
    • Selections for “PG-STAR” will be made by technical evaluation of the research plan by a panel of experts in the CCRAS. Selection would be made on the basis of merit. Objective scoring would be used to assess the applications with respect to innovativeness, relevance of work, translational value etc..
    • Students/Guides are requested to submit PG-STAR applications well in advance and not to wait for the last date to avoid the last minute rush.

    • The decision of the Council in regard to selection of students will be final. Requests for reconsideration will not be entertained and reasons for rejection of applications for award of scholarship will not be provided.
    • After completion of the project under “PG-STAR”, CCRAS and Ministry of AYUSH shall not be responsible to provide / ensure any kind of paid or honorary, part or full-time employment to the student in the Council or Ministry.
    • Change of guide, in any case, must be intimated by email to CCRAS at: pgstar.ayu@ccras.nic.in within 10 days with the acceptance of new guide under approval of Head of Intuition/Principal and University.
    • All disputes pertaining to this programme shall fall within the jurisdiction of Delhi only.
    • All correspondence will be sent on e-mail and /or College address only.
    • For any further clarifications applicant may contact on given e-mail and the Reference ID in all the e-mail correspondence must be quoted for quick reference.
